Rozina became a member of the Y in 2007, and by 2019, she was ready to take on a new challenge—learning to swim! She began her private swim lessons by mastering the essential skill of floating in the shallow pool. Week after week, she returned, focused on perfecting her floating, breathing, and stroke technique.
By the third week, Rozina was ready for the deep end. We worked on treading water, and soon after, she was swimming laps—her goal from the start. Her motivation? She wanted to swim with her husband and family while adding an exciting workout option to her healthy lifestyle.
In the beginning, Rozina used a float belt to help her master the rhythmic breathing needed for swimming. But by the end of her eighth lesson, she had ditched the float belt and completed an entire lap without stopping—looking like a seasoned swimmer!
We’re so proud of Rozina for her dedication and progress. At the Y, we’re here to support our members every step of the way in reaching their personal health and fitness goals.
