As much as we try to keep camp affordable, the cost of meals, lodging, activities, and staff for a full camp session adds up quickly. Thankfully, we have income-based scholarships available to help ensure no child misses out on camp for financial reasons. The Saginaw YMCA’s Annual Campaign and the generous gifts of individuals, community partners, and businesses make these scholarships possible.
Four Essentials to Know About Our Income Based Scholarships
1. It doesn’t impact the quality of your child’s camp experience. Once at camp, there will be no way to know which campers are registered with scholarships
2. It’s confidential. Unless you tell them, your child won’t know. Their counselors won’t know. Other than you, only three people at camp will know your child’s registration tier: our office manager, our program director, and our camp director.
3. It’s easy. One quick application to verify camper information and household income.
4. It’s intended to help more kids experience camp. Our goal is to make camp as accessible as possible for families.
