7/19/25 Annual YMCA & Saginaw County Veterans Stand down

Our Veterans Stand Down is an event or initiative designed to provide support and resources for homeless or at-risk veterans. It typically brings together various community organizations, service providers, and volunteers to offer a range of services to veterans in need. These services often include:

• VA Programs and Services
• Health Screenings
• The Vets Center
• Saginaw County Community Mental Health Authority
• American Legion VSO
• Food Distribution
• Bayshire Beauty Academy Haircut Vouchers
• Clothing and Blanket Distribution

The main goal of a Veterans Stand Down is to provide a welcoming, supportive environment for veterans, helping them regain stability and connect with the resources they need to improve their lives. The events typically take place in a safe, temporary setting, often over one or two days.

It’s an important community-driven event aimed at showing gratitude and ensuring that veterans receive the care and support they deserve after their service.
