…Membership in the 1868 Club is achieved by leaving the YMCA a gift through your estate planning or a gift to the endowment fund of the YMCA of Saginaw. It’s so easy and you can rest assured that your contribution today will benefit children and families for years to come. As with all financial considerations, we encourage you to discuss potential tax advantages and other aspects of charitable giving with your attorney, tax advisor or financial consultant.

Endowed Funds through the YMCA
The YMCA has two types of endowment funds, unrestricted and designated. Gifts of any amount to existing endowed funds are accepted and will be directed in support of that fund’s aim and purpose.
Y Unrestricted Endowed Funds
By establishing or giving to an undesignated fund with the YMCA of Saginaw, you are giving a gift to the Y that has no restrictions on its usage, so that our program staff, management and board will be able to determine the most impactful area of Y membership or programming to put your contribution towards. These gifts are the most flexible, allowing the Y to respond immediately to our community’s needs.
Y Designated Endowed Funds
By establishing or giving to a designated fund with the YMCA of Saginaw, you are targeting your gift to a specific Y offering. You are free to choose from existing programs, memberships, Camp Timbers offerings or scholarships, or any activities, events, or chronic health issues that you may wish to see your gift support at the Y.
With a minimum donation to the YMCA of Saginaw Endowment Fund of $10,000 you may establish a new fund designated and named as you see fit: your name, your family’s name, or even in honor of or in memory of someone or another business or organization. The initial, minimum donation of $10,000 can be made via cash, bequest, stock or mutual funds.
Unrestricted funds will reside within the endowed funds of the YMCA of Saginaw; each investment’s earnings will be used to address the most pressing needs of our youth, families and seniors. Designated endowed funds will be used to support your interest area at the Y.
