Dear Campers, Parents, and Friends of Camp,
I’m looking forward to another great summer at YMCA Camp Timbers! As we begin our 50th season of camps at our beautiful, 300-acre facility surrounding Piper Lake, I couldn’t be more excited for the new experiences, connections, and growth awaiting our campers. For many of us, Camp Timbers is a home away from home – a special place rich with new opportunities and treasured memories. I hope that the same will be true for you and your camper by year’s end.
At YMCA Camp Timbers, kids can be kids – they enjoy the wonders of nature, play games that are not on screens, and build friendships face-to-face. Our counselors are wonderful role models. They genuinely care about the individual development of each camper and help their campers learn, grow, and thrive as a community.
We want each child and teen who spends a week with us to return home better than they arrived – with a new confidence in themselves and a rejuvenated thirst for exploration and knowledge. As a former middle school educator, I value developing 21st-century skills and social-emotional learning at camp. The memories they craft, the values they experience, and the skills they practice – collaboration, teamwork, problem solving, creativity, and stewardship – will be lasting benefits of a summer experience at YMCA Camp Timbers.
Please contact me directly at (989) 753-7721 ext. 225 or via email at BAMiller@SaginawYMCA.org with any questions you have about camp. I look forward to working together with you to make this summer a meaningful and memorable one for your camper.
