Description:  The Program Enrollment Specialist provides accurate system set-up, and efficient data collection, all with the end goal of ensuring an excellent and efficient registration experience for members and program participants at the YMCA of Saginaw.

The Program Enrollment Specialist ensures timely and accurate program information, enrollment, and evaluation, working closely with the Program Directors & Communication Specialist.

YMCA of Saginaw – Mission Nutrition Coordinator

Hours: varies 20-25 weekly
Pay: $11.00 – $13.00/ hour

Description: The Mission Nutrition Coordinator provides oversite to the HEPA (Healthy Eating Physical Activity) compliant Mission Nutrition program including menu preparation, overseeing purchasing of food and supplies, and supervision of food prep staff as well as ensuring that all reporting requirements for the Youth food program are met.  The Mission Nutrition Coordinator will also oversee the Y café, nutrition education, and family gardening programs. This position will require a flexible schedule including some early morning, evening, and weekend responsibilities.

YMCA of Saginaw – Maintenance Assistant Part Time

Hours: varies 16-20 hours – most weekends and evenings required.

Description:  Join our Mission Nutrition team to fight hunger  in the Saginaw community. We are looking for reliable employees to prepare meals for our meal program, unload truck loads of produce deliveries, and deliver meals to   predetermined sites.

Part Time Program Positions


YMCA of Saginaw – Youth Program Staff –

Age 18+ is preferred, but we do have some areas in need of staffing as young as 16.

Hours:  This position will require some early morning hours, evening and weekend responsibilities.
Pay: $9.25 – $9.50 / hour

Description:  The Program staff radiates energy and warmth, able to build strong relationships with and between all members and program participants.  The Program staff leads members and participants with safe, fun, quality programs that are developed on the foundation of the YMCA of Saginaw’s mission, vision, and values.  The programs and services consist of a range of offerings – sports, CATCH (activity program, and food prep.   The Program staff assists in all aspects of the program experience including set-up, program implementation, and teardown.  This position will require some early morning hours, evening and weekend responsibilities. The programs are held in various places in the community.

YMCA of Saginaw – Youth Sports Coach

Hours: vary – mainly looking for Monday – Friday 5:00-7:00pm and Saturdays 9:00am-12:00pm
Pay: $9.25 – $9.50 per hour

Description:  

The coaches are able to build strong relationships with and between all members and program participants.  The coach leads members and participants with safe, fun, quality sports programs that are developed on the foundation of the YMCA of Saginaw’s mission, vision, and values. The sports consist of a wide range of offerings – flag football, basketball, soccer, cheer, kickball, dodgeball and T-ball and possibly more. The coaching staff assists in all aspects of the program experience including set-up, program implementation.
This position will require some evening and weekend responsibilities.

YMCA of  Saginaw – Yoga Instructor

Description:  The Yoga instructor radiates energy and warmth and is able to build strong relationships with and between all members and program participants.  The instructor leads members and participants with safe, fun, quality classes that are developed on the foundation of the YMCA of Saginaw’s mission, vision, and values.  The instructor is responsible for all aspects of the class experience including set-up, leadership, and clean-up.  Certification by a nationally recognized organization as a yoga instructor is required.

YMCA of  Saginaw – Wellness Coach

Description:  The Wellness Coach (WC) while on duty will be responsible for related services including member engagement, instruction on equipment, assisting members with developing goals, maintaining and cleaning equipment, general operations, assisting in tours, aquatic observation and any emergency that may occur. The WC will provide a safe and clean workout environment, accurate general health and wellness information, and a high level of customer service. The WC must portray a professional image and provide positive feedback, motivation, and encouragement.

YMCA of Saginaw – Lifeguards

Description:  The lifeguard radiates energy and warmth, able to build strong relationships with and between all members and program participants.  The lifeguard ensures safety in and around the pool for all members and participants.  Must be American Red Cross certified in lifeguarding, CPR-PR, First Aid and AED.

YMCA of Saginaw – Swim Instructor

Pay:  $9.50 (private swim lessons $20/hour)

Description:  The swim instructor radiates energy and warmth, able to build strong relationships with and between all members and program participants.  The swim instructor needs to be able to work with any age and varying backgrounds. The swim instructor ensures safety in and around the pool for all participants during class/practice time.  Must be able to demonstrate all swimming strokes. Lifeguard certification preferred, but not required.

Internship Opportunities


Exercise Science Internship: The Y is seeking a fun, creative, enthusiastic and outgoing individual to provide support for the Y. This internship provides dynamic guidance and leadership in multitude of different areas (youth development, healthy living and social responsibility). The internship is an opportunity to gain experience working as an integral member of the YMCA. The selected Intern will work closely with the Program Directors, and interact with all staff members. The Intern will work on real projects and learn to work cooperatively in a fast-paced, deadline and results driven environment, and also receive a free membership to the Y for them.
